Baseball Recap: Paden City Comes Up Short

Paden City extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-7 in the process. They came up short against the Cameron Dragons, falling 19-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

As for Cameron, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Cameron's part, Kason Angel was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Angel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryer Blake, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Coming up, Paden City will challenge Bridgeport at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cameron, they will square off against Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Dragons' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Lumberjacks have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
