Volleyball Recap: Lynnfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lynn Classical on Friday, Lynnfield came back down to earth. The Pioneers fell just short of the Reading Memorial Rockets by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Lynnfield ultimately came up short, they really made Reading Memorial work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 17-25, 22-25, 25-15, 15-11.

Alexia Vaquerano paced Lynnfield's offense, picking up 20 kills. Vaquerano got some help from Audrey Manning and her 18 assists. Olivia Myteberi controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Lynnfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Reading Memorial, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Lynnfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Triton Regional on the 16th. As for Reading Memorial, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Stoneham on the 16th.
