Baseball Recap: Scripps Ranch's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Scripps Ranch won against El Capitan last Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Scripps Ranch blew past Torrey Pines 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Scripps Ranch has posted against Torrey Pines since February 22, 2019.

Kamden Cha looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ethan Walker was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Sitton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Scripps Ranch's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Torrey Pines, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scripps Ranch will welcome Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Torrey Pines, they will be taking part in a tournament against Poway at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Titans have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
