Basketball Recap: Wetumka Comes Up Short

After flying high against Riverfield Country Day on Friday, Wetumka came back down to earth. The Wetumka Chieftains were dealt a 71-39 defeat at the hands of the Wellston Tigers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Tigers are ranked 141st).

Wetumka now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Wellston, they pushed their record up to 24-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

As of now, neither Wetumka nor Wellston have any future games scheduled.
