Baseball Recap: Preston Comes Up Short

Preston's last matchup with Sugar-Salem could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Saturday. The Indians lost 22-2 to the Diggers. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Preston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trisden Wall, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Wall hit this season.

Preston's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Sugar-Salem, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Diggers beat Preston by a score of 23-0 later that day.
