Baseball Recap: Assumption Takes a Loss

Assumption lost against Auburndale on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Royals came up short against the Apaches, falling 22-1. The matchup marked the Royals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Assumption and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Auburndale, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Assumption will venture away from home to take on Edgar at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Auburndale, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-3 win against Spencer on the 17th.
