Knox took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against South Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Redskins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Satellites on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Redskins have posted since May 3, 2024.

Cheryl Barnes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Knox has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Central, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4-1.

Knox didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 win against Jimtown on the 14th. As for South Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Kouts on the 12th.
