Softball Recap: Community Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Community came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Wicksburg Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings/Viqueens, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Anna Haskins and Alana Tate did most of the damage at the plate: Haskins scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Tate scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Haskins a new career-high in doubles (two). Haylee Webb was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wicksburg only posted a batting average of .188.

Community's win bumped their record up to 15-2-2. As for Wicksburg, with the loss, they broke their 20-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-6.

Community didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Boaz on the 26th. As for Wicksburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-5 win against Athens on the 26th.
