Soccer Game Preview: Brawley vs. Central

The Brawley Wildcats will face off against the Central Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Brawley sidestepped Southwest EC for a 3-2 win. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Eagles are ranked 707th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Central kept a clean sheet against Holtville on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Vikings as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 11 games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Holtville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Joseph Rosas, Angel Sandoval, and Mishel Villanueva.

Brawley has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those nine matchups. As for Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-2-3.
