Recap: Morro Bay Pirates vs. Santa Maria Saints
The Morro Bay Pirates were the 68-65 winner over the Santa Maria Saints when they last played one another on January 9th, but their luck changed this time around. Morro Bay fell 61-54 to Santa Maria on Friday. Morro Bay has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Falat, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Justin Campbell, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Morro Bay now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Santa Maria, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morro Bay will take on Pioneer Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Pioneer Valley is ranked 985th, while Morro Bay is ranked 983rd). As for Santa Maria, they will be playing at home against Cabrillo at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cabrillo is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
