Baseball Game Preview: Penn Manor Comets vs. Manheim Township Blue Streaks

The Penn Manor Comets will challenge the Manheim Township Blue Streaks at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Penn Manor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Cedar Crest on Friday as they made off with a 17-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Comets considering their one-run performance the match before.

Ethan Transue was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Angel Luna, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Penn Manor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Manheim Township, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over J.P. McCaskey on Wednesday.

Jack Kenneff was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Derderian, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Penn Manor pushed their record up to 3-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Manheim Township, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4.

Penn Manor might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Manheim Township in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
