Prairie had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Pomeroy on Tuesday as Prairie made off with a 14-5 victory. For Prairie, this counts as revenge for the 12-5 win Pomeroy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Levi McElroy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in hits. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Shears, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chris Schumacher, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pomeroy only managed five hits.

Pomeroy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Prairie will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kendrick at 5:00 p.m. on April 1st. As for Pomeroy, they will welcome Garfield-Palouse at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. This will be Garfield-Palouse's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
