Baseball Game Preview: Orange Lutheran Lancers vs. JSerra Catholic Lions

For the second straight game, Orange Lutheran will face off against JSerra Catholic. The Lancers will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Orange Lutheran 2.5, JSerra Catholic 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Orange Lutheran turned things around against JSerra Catholic on Tuesday. They blew past the Lions 10-3. The Lancers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th.

Colt Peterson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Murrietta, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Hanoian, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run.

Orange Lutheran's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 12-5. As for JSerra Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
