A Season-Best Effort from Sam Shaughessy Leads Blaine over Coon Rapids

Blaine was led to victory by Sam Shaughessy, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Shaughessy rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Blaine pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Shaughessy and Blaine will take on Shakopee at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.

This season, Welch has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 27.6 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 16.14 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 138.71 rushing yards.

For the year, Hendrickson has caught those 2 touchdowns while averaging 33.4 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 0.2 receiving yards per game.
