Preview: Capital Cougars vs. Peninsula Seahawks
Capital has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Peninsula Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Peninsula took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Capital, who comes in off a win.
Last Wednesday, Capital was able to grind out a solid victory over Central Kitsap, taking the game 46-35.
Peninsula suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 73-29 loss at the hands of Woodinville. Peninsula was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.
Despite the loss, Peninsula had strong showings from Grace Richardson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds, and Kaylia Heidelberg, who scored eight points.
Peninsula struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Capital's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Peninsula, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
Capital ended up a good deal behind Peninsula in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, losing 55-39. Can Capital avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
