Football Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Peach County + How To Watch

Peach County extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 30-24 W against the Crisp County Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Peach County was led to victory by Ashton Barton and Zion Hudson. Barton rushed for 129 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, while Hudson picked up 182 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those 182 receiving yards gave Hudson a new career-high.

Peach County didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Crisp County to a completion percentage of just 34.6%. The Trojans weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 57.1%.

Peach County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kamorious Smith.

As for Crisp County, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. On the bright side, the 24- point performance marked their highest-scoring matchup to date.

Crisp County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrell Brown, who rushed for 78 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Deshaun Fedd, who picked up 69 receiving yards and one score.

Peach County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northside at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. As for Crisp County, they have already played their next game, a 66-38 win against Dougherty on the 12th.
