Soccer Game Preview: East Union vs. Mountain House

The East Union Lancers will square off against the Mountain House Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

East Union will head out to face Mountain House after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. East Union fell 3-1 to Patterson. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Lancers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Mountain House didn't have quite enough to beat Sierra on Thursday and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 591st, while the Timberwolves are ranked 236th).

Luis Gabriel Reynoso and Priyansh Nath scored both of Mountain House's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Mountain House now has a losing record at 8-9-1. As for East Union, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4-6.

East Union was able to grind out a solid victory over Mountain House when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Union since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
