Basketball Game Preview: Worthington Kilbourne Wolves vs. Big Walnut Golden Eagles

The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves will take on the Big Walnut Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Worthington Kilbourne will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Worthington Kilbourne strolled past Hayes with points to spare, taking the game 52-35. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Pacers are ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Worthington Kilbourne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Wilkinson, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and five steals. That's the most points Wilkinson has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Bennett, who posted five points along with ten steals and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Big Walnut didn't have too much trouble with Harvest Prep on Monday as they won 57-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Worthington Kilbourne has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.1 points per game. As for Big Walnut, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Worthington Kilbourne suffered a grim 50-30 defeat to Big Walnut when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Worthington Kilbourne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
