Baseball Recap: Pendleton County Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Pendleton County and East Hardy meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Wildcat fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3. The Wildcat were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

James Vincell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season. Josiah Kimble was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Pendleton County has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for East Hardy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15.

While Pendleton County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
