Preview: Verona Hillbillies vs. Hanover Park Hornets
The Verona Hillbillies will be playing at home against the Hanover Park Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Verona is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, Verona was just a hair shy of victory and fell 8-7 to Glen Ridge.
Despite the defeat, Verona had strong showings from Zach Garmont, who picked up 82 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Bodie Maisano, who rushed for 107 yards on only 14 carries.
Meanwhile, Hanover Park came up short against Pequannock on Friday and fell 31-24.
Hanover Park's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joey Borrello, who rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown, and Kevin Loparnos who picked up 82 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The losses dropped Verona to 2-6 and Hanover Park to 5-2.
Things could have been worse for Verona, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 21-7 loss to Hanover Park when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Verona have more luck at home instead of on the road?
