Basketball Recap: Arthur-Okaw Christian Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Arthur-Okaw Christian won the last time they faced Urbana University, and Annabelle Haskins did her part to make sure it happened again. The Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders blew past the Urbana University Illineks 48-22 on Monday thanks in part to Haskins, who went 8 of 10 on her way to 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Herschberger, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and three steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played.

Arthur-Okaw Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points per game. As for Urbana University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Arthur-Okaw Christian and Cerro Gordo/Bement will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Urbana University, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Momence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
