Volleyball Recap: Genesis Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Killian Hill Christian two weeks ago, Genesis Academy came back down to earth. The Genesis fell just short of the Lanier Christian Academy Lightning by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Genesis were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lightning earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Genesis Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (102-91), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 11-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-13.

Genesis Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Lanier Christian Academy, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 4-17.

Looking ahead, Genesis Academy will venture away from home to challenge East Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lanier Christian Academy, they will square off against Horizon Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
