Basketball Game Preview: Merritt Oilers vs. Mooreland Bearcats

The Merritt Oilers will head out to square off against the Mooreland Bearcats at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Merritt came up short against Canute and fell 49-36. The Oilers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-35, which was the final score in Mooreland's tilt against Shattuck on Friday. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mooreland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Merritt, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Merritt beat Mooreland 50-39 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Does Merritt have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mooreland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
