Softball Game Preview: Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles vs. Donelson Christian Academy Wildcats

Ezell-Harding Christian hasn't had much luck against Donelson Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Ezell-Harding Christian turned things around against Mount Juliet Christian Academy on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Saints. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 18-1).

Arya Locklayer was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lynae Lawrence, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Ezell-Harding Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Donelson Christian Academy entered their tilt with Davidson Academy on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 4-1. Four seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Donelson Christian Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, their record is now 4-14.

Ezell-Harding Christian suffered a grim 17-6 defeat to Donelson Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
