Baseball Game Preview: North Boone Vikings vs. Byron Tigers

North Boone is 2-8 against Byron since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Boone 3.3, Byron 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between North Boone and Rock Falls, and Rock Falls kept the tradition alive. The Vikings fell 8-4 to the Rockets on Monday.

Meanwhile, Byron entered their tilt with Dixon on Monday with 21 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 22. They blew past the Dukes & Duchesses 16-5. Considering the Tigers have won 19 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Byron's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for North Boone, their loss dropped their record down to 25-5.
