Football Game Preview: Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian Lions vs. Oroville Hornets

The Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian Lions will square off against the Oroville Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Wellpinit on Friday. The Lions took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-8 victory over the Redskins. That 51 point margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Johnny Ferguson produced another solid effort rushing for 118 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, while also throwing for 105 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Anthony Moskvich was another key player, rushing for 132 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Oroville blew past Bridgeport, posting a 50-8 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Oroville, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
