Football Game Preview: Harding Skippers vs. East Canton Hornets

The Harding Skippers will face off against the East Canton Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Harding comes in on ten and East Canton on five.

Last Friday, Harding took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over Windham. The result was nothing new for the Skippers, who have now won five games by 36 points or more so far this season.

Harding's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abraham Castellano, who rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also caught one TD. That's the most rushing yards Castellano has posted since back in September. Another signal caller making a difference was Brady Lawson, who threw for 243 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes.

Harding's run defense was locked in: Windham could only muster 2.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Dionte Ivory for the heroic effort on defense: he. Harding didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.1.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only East Canton walked away with it. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 28-21 on Friday.

East Canton's win came from a few key players Harding will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dillon Anderson, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of scores. An impressive showing, but he really ramped things up playing D: he picked up a sack and made 16 total tackles. Aydan Stephens was another key player, picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East Canton's defense and their six sacks. In that department, Jacob Demyan was the leader with two.

East Canton's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Harding, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
