Baseball Game Preview: San Augustine Wolves vs. Chireno Owls

The San Augustine Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Chireno Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Augustine's hitters has struggled lately (they haven't scored a run in three consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Friday just wasn't the day for San Augustine's offense. They came up short against Woden on Friday, falling 14-0.

Meanwhile, Chireno suffered their biggest defeat since April 26, 2024 on Friday. They lost 13-2 to Shelbyville. The loss continues a trend for the Owls in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Chireno saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Nichols, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Chireno's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-7-2. As for San Augustine, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

San Augustine suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Chireno in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can San Augustine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
