Softball Recap: Emerald Comes Up Short

Emerald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to the Abbeville Panthers. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Emerald saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paydyn Stafford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Emerald's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Abbeville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-8-1.

Coming up, Emerald will take on Thornwell at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Abbeville, they have already played their next game, a 15-5 win against Batesburg-Leesville on the 26th.
