Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Clopton

Clopton came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 72-47 margin over the North Callaway Thunderbirds. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-15.

North Callaway's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Blevins, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Brewer, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points.

Clopton's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for North Callaway, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Clopton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-48 win against Winfield on the 25th. As for North Callaway, they will face off against Bowling Green at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Callaway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
