Baseball Recap: Midway Triumphs

Midway proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Harriman Blue Devils 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Green Wave in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won seven in a row.

Caiden Brewer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Midway is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-15-1 otherwise. Brewer was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Midway's win bumped their record up to 10-17-1. As for Harriman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

As of now, neither Midway nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
