Softball Recap: Franklin Indians vs. Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines

Franklin extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-7 in the process. They lost 18-8 to the Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 16-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Franklin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Hurd, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Mia Cleveland was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Western Tech & Environmental Science's side, Juliahna Thomas was incredible, going 5-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those five hits gave Thomas a new career-high. Mars Althouse also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
