Basketball Recap: Eau Claire Comes Up Short

Eau Claire lost against Mendon back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eau Claire Beavers fell 56-47 to the Mendon Hornets.

It was another big night for Owen Gorham, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards for Mendon. The dominant performance gave Gorham a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Gorham, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine assists.

Eau Claire dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mendon, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eau Claire will take on New Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Buffalo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.6 points per game this season. As for Mendon, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bellevue at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
