Basketball Game Preview: Mecklenburg County Phoenix vs. Magna Vista Warriors

The Mecklenburg County Phoenix will square off against the Magna Vista Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mecklenburg County has four straight victories, Magna Vista has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Mecklenburg County is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest win since January 24th on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Bassett.

Meanwhile, Magna Vista lost to Halifax County on the road by a 60-41 margin on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Comets are ranked 138th).

Mecklenburg County's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Magna Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.
