Baseball Game Preview: Desert Mountain Wolves vs. Campo Verde Coyotes

For the second straight game, Desert Mountain will face off against Campo Verde. The Wolves will host the Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Desert Mountain came out on top. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Campo Verde on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Zach Gerber looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Quentin Starbuck was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Desert Mountain's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 3-13 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Leo Kearns, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Desert Mountain's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Campo Verde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.
