Basketball Recap: Goldwater Comes Up Short

Goldwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 57-20 loss at the hands of the Thunderbird Titans. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly 37 points.

When it comes to explaining why Goldwater lost, don't look at Joy Kenfack. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Kenfack a new career-high in rebounds.

Thunderbird was led to victory by Roscella Tsosie and Isabella Illingworth. Tsosie went 7 for 12 on her way to 16 points and six steals, while Illingworth dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Tsosie has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Stanley, who posted eight points.

Goldwater's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Thunderbird, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10.

Goldwater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-37 win against Shadow Mountain on the 31st. Thunderbird has also already played their next contest, a 54-18 loss against Paradise Honors on the 31st.
