Basketball Recap: Wakefield School Finds Playoff Glory Versus Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot

Wakefield School had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 41-22 victory over the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights on Tuesday. The Fighting Owls have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Wakefield School was led to victory by Ceci Turner and Andie Mason. Turner shot 50% from the field on her way to 18 points and three steals, while Mason posted four points and 16 rebounds. Turner has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 32 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joelle Domfeh, who had four points and three steals.

Wakefield School was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot only four assists.

Havana Costello and Molly Hamner certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Costello put up two points and eight boards, while Hamner scored 13 points and three steals.

Wakefield School is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot and nudges their season record down to 10-11.

Wakefield School has already played their next contest, a 75-25 loss against Carlisle on the 26th. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
