Volleyball Recap: Longmont Comes Up Short

Longmont had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-9 to make it four. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frederick Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Frederick, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 14-5 Monarch (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.7% over those games).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frederick to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyla Vejrostek, who had 11 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Vejrostek has posted over her last six matchups.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Longmont will face off against rival Monarch at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Frederick is set to take on their familiar foe Horizon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
