Murrieta Valley had won four straight games and Jeremiah Watson did his part to make it five on Friday. The Nighthawks strolled past the Chaparral Pumas with points to spare, taking the game 56-42 with plenty of help from Watson, who rushed for 281 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 107 rushing yards.

One reason for the win was Murrieta Valley's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Joseph Rodriguez: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 16 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Chaparral still got an impressive performance from Dane Weber, who threw for 440 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 53 yards and one score. With that strong performance, Weber is now averaging an impressive 308.3 passing yards per game. Chaparral's leading receiver Eli Woodard was Weber's top target yet again, picking up 180 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Murrieta Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Chaparral, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
