Basketball Recap: Algona Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Algona had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Pocahontas Indians 59-56. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly three points.

Algona's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Pocahontas, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Algona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-46 win against Iowa Falls-Alden on the 24th. Pocahontas has also already played their next match, a 54-51 victory against Emmetsburg on the 24th.
