Baseball Game Preview: James Monroe Yellow Jackets vs. Culpeper County Blue Devils

James Monroe is 1-9 against Culpeper County since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to face off against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Nine must be James Monroe's lucky number: they beat Chancellor with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets beat the Chargers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-8. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Culpeper County never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Courtland 1-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 28, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Culpeper County now has a winning record of 9-8. As for James Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

James Monroe might still be hurting after the 15-2 loss they got from Culpeper County when the teams last played back in April. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
