Basketball Recap: Springville Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Springville was the 47-43 winner over Jacksonville when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Springville Tigers received a blow on Saturday as they fell 74-59 to the Jacksonville Golden Eagles. The Tigers were down 65-44 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Jacksonville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayci Taylor out in front who went 9 for 11 on her way to 19 points. Neveah Nicholson was another key player, going 6 of 14 en route to 16 points along with three steals and three blocks.

Springville's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9. As for Jacksonville, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springville will square off against Moody at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Jacksonville, they will take on Minor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
