Maize posted their closest win since August 30th on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Spring Hill Broncos 2-1. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Maize got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-17.

Maize's victory bumped their record up to 15-17-1. As for Spring Hill, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-18.

Maize didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 0-0 tie against Emporia on the 18th. As for Spring Hill, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Lawrence on the 18th.
