Baseball Recap: Tulare Union Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mission Oak, Tulare Union was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Dinuba Emperors 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tribe have posted since March 27, 2024.

Ryan Matthews made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Matthews was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaden Bermudez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Tulare Union is undefeated when Bermudez posts two or more runs, but 2-10 otherwise. Brayden Stevenson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Tulare Union's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-10. As for Dinuba, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Tulare Union will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Emperors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
