Copper Hills has gone a perfect 5-0 against Westlake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Grizzlies will look to defend their home court against the Thunder at 6:30 p.m. Copper Hills will be strutting in after a win while Westlake will be coming in after a defeat.
Copper Hills took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Riverton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Grizzlies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Silverwolves on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Grizzlies have posted since September 23rd.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Copper Hills got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain Ridge.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 24-26, 25-19, 25-10.
Copper Hills will have to keep a close watch on Leiema Fano and Kamylle Te'o, a pair of players who had a big impact on Westlake's prior game. Fano had six digs and two aces, while Te'o had 15 kills, seven digs, and one block. Chaise Achermann also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Copper Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 8-17.
Copper Hills took their win against Westlake when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Thunder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
