Baseball Recap: Silex Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Silex, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Van-Far Indians by a score of 5-1 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Owls, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chase Mullen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Joe Dameron was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Silex's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Van-Far, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silex will take on North Callaway at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Van-Far, they will head out to challenge Missouri Military Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
