Baseball Recap: Maurepas Takes a Loss

Maurepas couldn't beat Liberty Magnet on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the sixth inning. The Wolves fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 6-5.

Maurepas saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kade Penalber, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Maurepas' defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Liberty Magnet, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-15.

The future could be bright for both Maurepas and Liberty Magnet: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Wolves will try to hand Family Christian their third-straight loss when the two meet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Liberty Magnet will look to extend Woodlawn-B.R.'s nine-game losing streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
