Seattle Prep has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lincoln recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers will take on the Lynx at 3:30 p.m. Lincoln took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Seattle Prep, who comes in off a win.
Seattle Prep took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Ballard, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Beavers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since May 16, 2024.
Gracie White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayden Downer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Fiona Dunn, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Eastside Catholic.
Ruby Hughes was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Brienna Minton and Nash Cochran did some serious damage despite the final result: Minton went 1-for-4 with one home run, while Cochran went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Cochran has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Blokker, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Seattle Prep and bumps their season record up to 5-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
Seattle Prep took their win against Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
