Baseball Recap: Garfield Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Garfield dropped their record down to 13-11 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Bell Eagles by a score of 2-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Bell, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For Bell's part, the result came thanks to Adolfo Esquivel's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Esquivel.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Garfield beat Bell by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.
