Softball Game Preview: Everett Warriors vs. Central Dragons

Everett and Central are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Warriors will challenge the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Everett will be strutting in after a win while Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Everett came out on top against Meyersdale two weeks ago thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Warriors took their contest against the Red Raiders 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Central came up short against Hollidaysburg on Wednesday, falling 11-4.

Kailyn Gahagan was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Gahagan was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.

Gahagan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was McKenna Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Everett, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything went Everett's way against Central when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Everett made off with a 13-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
